

She loved Jesus, was a long time member of the First Assembly of God - Pastor Cecil F. Gray. She loved drawing, poetry, ceramics and many other crafts.
She loved the outdoors, her flowers and fishing but most of all she loved her family, being a fulltime homemaker and a mother of four boys.
Geraldine is preceded in death by her parents, Banks R. and Evelyn W. Thornburg; one son, Charles Phillips Jr.; four sisters, Ora Lee Horten, Christine Nellie Hunt, Betty L. Finley, Ruth Bankie Beaudoin, and one brother, Banks R. Thornburg Jr.
She is survived by her husband Charles Phillips of 63 years, Savannah, Ga; three sons, Richard S. Phillips (Debra), Anthony M. Phillips (Cheryl), Edwin L. Phillips (Lynn), Ellabell, Ga; one brother, James A. Thornburg; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and a nephew.
Celebration of life service will be held Monday, June 9, 2014 at the First Assembly of God at 11:00 a.m. viewing with services held at 12:00 p.m., Rev. Cecil F. Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
