She was born in Pembroke, grew up in Brunswick and lived most of her adult life in Savannah. An accountant she worked for the Hershey Company and retired from Effingham Hospital. Marilyn was a graduate of Georgia Teachers College and also Armstrong State College where received a degree in Computer Programming.
She was preceded in death by her husband Louis Thompson; parents, W.W. and Juanita Branch.
Survivors are her son, Scott Thompson (Debra); grandchildren, Andrew, Ryan and William Thompson; a sister, Margaret Branch and other family.
Graveside Service: 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2015 at Brewton Cemetery in Hagan, GA.
