Richard J. Thornton, 54, of Garden City, Georgia passed away at his home on Sunday June 12, 2011, with his loving wife by his side. Richard worked at California Carthage for 12 yrs. & previously at Stone Container for 12 yrs.
Richard is preceded in death by his father, Archie Colquitt “Bud” Thornton & sister Ruthie Annette Thornton.
He is survived by his wife Rose S. Thornton; mother Dorothy Faye Varnadore Thornton; Sister Linda (Eddie) Sweat; brothers Buddy (Sandra) Thornton & Charles (Wendy) Thornton & many nieces & nephews.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday June 15, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. No viewing.
