February 20, 1939 – June 30, 2025
John Werner Dreikorn, age 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2025. Born in Germany, John lived a life full of humor, love, and hard-earned wisdom.
John began his career as a hairdresser, where his skill and charm quickly earned him a loyal clientele. It was in a beauty salon in 1965 that he met the love of his life, Marilyn. The two were married for 60 beautiful years before Marilyn’s passing. Their life together was a testament to enduring love, partnership, and shared joy.
Later in life, John transitioned into a new craft — staining staircases — a trade that spoke to his meticulous nature and pride in a job well done.
Above all, John was a devoted father and grandfather. He was deeply committed to guiding his children, especially his daughter Tiffney, whom he strived to teach the values of resilience, responsibility, and purpose. His love for the outdoors led to many fishing and camping trips, and he never passed up a good day at the casino — always with a grin and a joke in his pocket.
John will be remembered for his honesty, quick wit, and generous spirit. He cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren, and his presence brought laughter and warmth to every gathering.
John is survived by his children: Michael Dreikorn, Carl Dreikorn, Lisa Hamilton and Tiffney Dreikorn; and his beloved grandchildren: Christopher Dreikorn, Shawn Dreikorn, Cody Nottingham, Kylie Hamilton, Joey Hamilton and Michael “Mikey” Arana. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Dreikorn.
A celebration of John’s life will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Dimond & Shannon Mortuary, 10630 Chapman Ave, Garden Grove, CA 92840.
John’s legacy of love, laughter, and truthfulness lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
