Geraldine Hoffert. He had two siblings: Mike Hoffert and Patty Hoffert. John graduated from Garden Grove High School and later attended both Santa Ana and Golden West Colleges. He was enlisted in the U.S. Navy from 1972-1974 and served aboard a submarine during the Vietnam War. He later worked as a marine machine mechanic at the Long Beach and San Diego Naval ship yards.
“Sean”, as he was known to his family and friends, loved Rocky movies, dancing, singing and flying kites! In his youth, he spent summers cleaning barnacles off of boats and became a certified hard hat diver. H was also an avid sports fan and fisherman. He also was the proud owner and restorer of a 1967 Chevelle.
John is survived by: his children: Shannon Mowry and John Hoffert III, 3 grandchildren: Jackson, Ian and Keira and brother, Mike Hoffert.
