My precious cousin, what can I say but echo the sentiment of others.  Your quiet gentle  demeanor spoke volumes.  The love you had for Molly and your children was always so evident.   We lost touch for far to long and I was so thankful when we reconnected.  We got to share  wonderful family memories.  I shall miss your sweet smile.  You may be gone from my sight but you are forever in my heart.

You are without a doubt a man after Gods own heart. It's been an absolute joy to not just witness but also be a recipient of your kindness & love. While there are thousands of memories of watching you serve God and your Family its the moments with everyone together that are most cherished, knowing these moments are what you most longed for. 
Family was everything to you and after 8 children there was always room for one more! Heartfelt memories included watching you lovingly comfort your own dad 30 years ago when his time to return home was drawing near. Cherished memories included chats over "coffee talk" as you shared memories of growing up, faith/God, Molly & Family, blessed me to hear. 
You intently listened and while I've always been in Awe of your intelligence you often shared words of wisdom in kindness, always giving God All the glory.
Memories of endurance included watching you leave for work before the sun dawned a new day, returning home long after it set. You raise up your family in church. I laugh every time Joey shares your stealth ear-flick "correction "when anyone of them  (mostly Joey) acted up.
You put others first, even serving our country that we might maintain our Freedom's. Memories after your own children made you a grandpa have been some of the most joyous, watching you dote on your grandchildren in home campouts and adventures of Disney, Knotts & Sea World.  
We so miss your laugh and those under your breath chuckles.
A loving husband for 53 years you never made a decision without considering your beloved Molly, always asking "what does mom want?", & "Where does mom want to go?"
Your animated faces are forever in my thoughts especially at the mention of cookies & icecream. You're my favorite Santa, leprechaun and above all PaPa Joe. Thank you for your example of love .💞


Being able to call this amazing man my grandfather is truly a blessing. He is the reason my childhood is so memorable and I cherish it so much, he was a father figure to me. He was always so proud of all the accomplishments I’d made throughout my life, he was usually the first person I’d call. I will never forget; our target Friday’s, a birthday party I’d once had where he face painted, he could quite literally do it all,  when we’d go to dinner and he’d make a bunny rabbit out of the clothed napkins. I also recall the times he’d “pick a quarter” from behind my ear or how he was always my biggest fan at any event or basketball game I’d have. The countless Saturday nights after church when we’d go to dinner at hometown and sometimes, even though he’d be tired, we’d go to the dollar store or Walmart. Our Christmas tree campouts, which I intend on keeping this tradition going. I remember when we’d go to church when I was little and he would be handing out the Eucharist, I was always so proud, “That’s my grandpa!”. Or how we’d always have to go to church at least an hour early to get the best parking space and eating chips in the car while we’d wait, and occasionally being slipped an orange sugar tab. These are the memories that bring me peace in knowing he lived a full and amazing life. He has always been the most giving and selfless person I’ve come to know. Thank you cupcake for making my life brighter and always reminding me to do my best. As our goodbye tradition once went, “LYG”. 

Thank you Daddy for all your love❤  You have taught me to be loving,  kind,  helpful,  selfless,  and humble.   
I will miss our walks,  trips to  VA in Long Beach,   your laughter and smile.  Most of all,  I will miss your love.

Joe Cannon was a great guy.  He was a loving, husband, father, grand father and friend.   Above all, he was a loving servant of God.  He was a devout and fervent Catholic, who cherished his Irish roots.  As his eight children rallied around him and cared for him  in his final days, they manifested their love and respect for him. His legacy of love and kindness will remain with all who knew and loved him.  Rest in peace dear friend.
