

MaryVirginia spent her childhood in Pocatello. After graduating from Pocatello High School on her 18th Birthday, May 31, 1944, she headed to Hanford-Richland, Washington. There she joined her father and brother, Robert, at the historic Hanford Site. She worked for 20 months as one of the site’s first female radio operators.
When she returned to Pocatello, MaryVirginia began her college studies at Idaho State University. She spent one semester and one summer there, then headed to Marymount College in Salina, Kansas, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business in 1949.
Her long teaching career began in Superior, WY, where she taught business and typing at the high school level. Four years later, in 1953, she transferred to California and taught in the Fullerton High School District for the next 32 years.
In 1961 she met Myron Aldrich, and in 1963 they were married. They moved to Garden Grove in 1965 and have called it home ever since. Myron and MaryVirginia have enjoyed five decades of traveling the world together. They’ve visited every continent and have seen most countries.
MaryVirginia retired from teaching June 18, 1985 and their travels accelerated.
She also spent much of her time after retirement with her grandchildren. MaryVirginia was blessed with many grandchildren and countless great grandchildren.
Myron and MaryVirginia celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary September 6, 2014.
December 2, 2014 she passed away at the age of 88.
