He is preceded in death by his son, Ralph “Joey” Aofrate III and his brother, Tommy Hignite. Joe is survived by his two sisters, Laura Aofrate and Debbie Chavez, along with his brother, Alan Aofrate.
Joe worked many jobs through his life including a job at Disneyland, where he loved being with people, but mainly he worked as a home-based mechanic. Joe was generous with his mechanical skills and an answer to prayers of many who were needing help and could not afford a repair shop. Most that knew him will never forget him.
A celebration of Joe’s life will be held Friday, October 28, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Dimond & Shannon Mortuary, 10630 Chapman Ave, Garden Grove, CA 92840. Following the visitation, will be a graveside service from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Good Shepherd Cemetery, 8301 Talbert Avenue, Huntington Beach, CA 92647.
