My deepest sympathy to Grace and family and friends of Dick.  I always had to dance near him when "One Step Forward and Two Steps Back" was danced.  He had a quiet demeanor and a sense of humor.  I never heard him sing, but Grace had told me he sang in the choir at St Columban Catholic Church..He will be sorely missed.

My Uncle was one the best example in my life as what man should be and how a father should be with his children. I new him best over the years of growing up. As an adult I did not get much time with him as I would have like. But one thing I have learned in life is that a good man dose for his family with no regrets and with a smile. My Condolences to Grace and her family and friends. Dick was one of the nicest guys I ever met. He always greeted me with a hardy handshake and a Howdee.. I met Dick about 12 years ago when he would come to dance and socialize on Friday nights at the Buena Park Elks Lodge.  I became good friends with Dick and his wife, Grace.  He would only dance two or three times a night but would come on the stage to tell me jokes or catch me up on the weeks gossip.  He loved listening to country music and even when he had to bring an oxygen tank to get through the night, if I played his favorite dance, he would take off his breather, go out and dance, tip his hat to me and then go back and sit down.  I really enjoyed his company and friendship.  His favorite dance was "One Step Forward and Two Steps Back" And, because so many people liked Dick and knew this was "his" dance, they would pack the dance floor to support him.  He will be greatly missed.

Richard was a great example of a great man! I always enjoyed spending time with him when I would go over to visit mike and his family. Since the early 1980s He always had a smile on his face and very quick Witt. I always enjoyed seeing him. He was a great guy! I will miss him..

Dick was a long-time and cherished member of St. Columban's Parish Choir.  He was greatly missed from the first day he determined that he could no longer make it up the choir loft stairs.  I could see him and Grace from the choir loft - they always sat it the same area of the Church each week.  Dick was a great guy and I was honored to have had him in the choir! Richard, while i never knew you, i knew your son mike. He has been my graphics design work guy for 5+ years and my friend for equally as long. When i flew out to cali one time, we went to disney world together and had a blast hanging out. 

If a parents child is a reflection of how the child was raised, then its safe to say mike inherited a lot of his ways from you and your wife. You were a great man and mike talked about you frequently, almost to the point wher ei felt i knew you personally. You and your wife raised one hell of a sun, and under that beautiful california sun no less. Rest in Peace big man, you did your thing while you were here on earth, and nobody can ever take that away from you. Your son is living proof. Take care
