Vivian Grace Campbell was born on June 5, 1924, in Garfield Heights, Ohio, to Felice Provenzano and Rose Aliota Provenzano. It was there that she graduated from high school and a business-focused vocational program.
As a young adult, Viv moved to Los Angeles, California, where she and her mother helped her sister raise her nephew, Anthony (Tony) Miadich, and where she met and married her husband of 23 years, William (Bill) Arthur Campbell.
In her work life, Viv started as a manager for a realty group. She then worked for thirty years at Rutan & Tucker, a law firm in Costa Mesa, California, where she was a legal secretary and office manager and took special pride in helping new associates get oriented to the firm.
In her personal life, Viv was the most amazing hostess — entertaining and witty. She is remembered for opening her home to large family celebrations where she fed everyone her Italian dishes. In retirement, she enjoyed cooking for family and friends, low-stakes gambling, traveling, bowling, and her dogs. She was kind, loving, loyal, and devoted.
Vivian is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill Campbell, her five older siblings: Andrew (Henry) Provenzano, Salvatore (Sam) Provenzano, Joan Humbert, Joseph Provenzano, and Ann Miadich, her nephews Tony Miadich, Andrew (Butch) Provenzano, Salvadore (Sam) Provenzano II, and her niece, Lois Knight.
She is survived by the families of her nephews (Miadiches and Provenzanos), the families of her cousins (Dixons, Duplers, and Iapellos), and her wonderful caregivers.
A viewing and rosary for Vivian will be held Monday, February 19, 2024, at 11:30 am, followed by a funeral mass at noon, at St. Columban Catholic Church in Garden Grove. Following the mass, there will be a reception and time to reminisce at Dimond & Shannon Mortuary in Garden Grove.
Interment will take place the next day, February 20, 2024, at 11:00 am at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Orange.
