She was born on June 14, 1964 to the late Elzie Grady Poteat, Sr. and Sallie Della Mitchem Poteat.
April enjoyed dining out, was a fan of Bojangles, loved solving word puzzles, reading her Bible, and cheering for the UNC Tar Heels.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her paternal grandparents, Thomas and Flossie Poteat; maternal grandparents, Oscar and Ila Mae Mitchem; infant niece, Jennie Lanette Darby; sister-in-law, Marlene Poteat.
She is survived by her brother, Elzie Grady Poteat, Jr. of Lowell; sisters, Wanda Faye Poteat of Lowell and Sinda Poteat Reed of Ranlo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mt. Holly.
