““So it’s true, when all is said and done, grief is the price we pay for love and Seashells remind us that every passing life leaves something beautiful behind.”…Brian Gregory Clanton, 43, of Gastonia passed away Sunday July 24, 2016 at Carolina’s Medical Center in Charlotte. Brian was a loving father, husband, son and big brother. Brian attended Gaston Day School and he was a graduate of Hunter Huss High School and Belmont Abbey College. Brian had a thirst for knowledge. He loved to read, study and listen to TED talks. Brian enjoyed the beach, outdoor activities and disc golf with his little brother. Brian was into fitness and regularly went to the gym to work out. He was devoted to his wife and children. He will be remembered for being on “Brian Time” and his daddy-daughter days.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 9 years, Maribeth Brubaker Clanton of Gastonia, North Carolina; his two beautiful and precious daughters: Ella Grace Clanton and Oliva Marie Clanton; parents: Greg and Rachel Ross Clanton of Gastonia, North Carolina; brother: Zane Edward Clanton of Charleston, South Carolina.
A memorial service for Brian will be held at 6:00 PM, Friday, July 29, 2016 at Carothers Funeral Home Chapel, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, North Carolina 29054. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM ~ 6:00 PM prior to the ceremony. Pastor Mark Gillming will offer words of comfort to the family and friends who gather to remember Brian.
