In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald H Guffie; brothers, Herbert, Russell, Earl, Charlie, Willard and Gene; sisters, Edna Cable, Perl Jenkins, Nettie Carringer and Ethel Graves.
Survivors include a sister, Dora Scism of Kings Mtn. NC; a special sister/niece, Nell Widner and husband James; sister-in-law, Carolyn Carringer; four children, Barry Guffie of Sandford, NC, Vicki Barron and husband Chuck Hill of Seneca, SC, Mike Guffie and wife Ramona of Alaska and Kim Wallace of Fort Mill, SC.; nine grandchildren; Uriah Guffie and wife Lennae of Grand Rapids, Mi, Scott Chapman of Missoula, Mt., Allison Roach of Seneca, SC, Ashley Sullivan of NY, Jesse Guffie of Newton, NC, Tara Keller of Tamp, Fla., Nila Sheets of Mi., Taylor Tenant and Cody of Olin, NC and Jordon Wallace of Fort Mill, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was an active member of Grace Baptist Church and the Sonshine Class. She retired from Belks Shoe Dept. where she received numerous Managers Awards for Exceptional Sales Achievements and Outstanding Customer Service. She was an avid cook and loved cooking for friends and family, especially her homemade biscuits.
The Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Grace Baptist Church, 2200 Auten Road, Gastonia, NC.
The family has requested a private burial.
Memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church Children’s Ministry. These children loved on CLota often bringing her hugs and special surprises as they brightened her day.
