Mrs. Staton was affectionately known as the card lady, always sending out cards to family and friends on every occasion. Faith was a devoted Christian and loved Elizabeth Baptist Church where she taught Girl's in Action and was involved with WMU. She also served the Lord on two Hurricane Relief trips and went on two trips with John to Israel. She enjoyed reading, solving puzzles, bowling, and watching sports. However, Faith's most treasured activity was spending time with family. Mrs. Staton was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Faith is the daughter of the late Benjamin and Laura Nevling Collins. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, John Edwin Staton; son, Charles Edwin Staton, and siblings, Mora Mae Gilley, Laura Ellen Palmer, Raymond Collins and Dr. Ira Vaughn Collins.
Left behind to cherish their memories of Faith are her daughters, Charlotte Gill and her husband D'mitri, Mary Gloege and her husband Donald and Connie Quigley and her husband Mike. Grieving the loss of their grandmother are Adam Staton and his fiancée Paulisha Webster, Amber Lawson and her husband Eric, Nicole Haynes and her husband Tim, Brandon Gill and Elizabeth Robinson and her husband James. Faith leaves behind her great-grandchildren Faith Lawson and Jason Haynes.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Elizabeth Baptist Church, 301 North Post Road, Shelby. A Celebration of Faith's Life will begin at 2:00 pm.
