Francis “Frank” Eugene Warren, 76, of Gastonia passed away unexpectedly on Thursday September 23, 2021. Frank was a wonderful son, husband and father. Frank was a Christian who loved the Lord. He regularly studied the Bible on his own. He grew up in a Christian home and he regularly attended Woodlawn Baptist Church in Lowell as a youth. Frank proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard. He was proud of being a “Coasty,” and he regularly talked about the work he did during the disastrous hurricane Camille, and about the various ships he sailed aboard. Professionally, Frank worked as a digital technician on the 911 system at the phone company for many year. Frank liked to hunt and he was very involved in the Mecklenburg Wildlife Club where he served on their board of directors. Frank was match director at the club’s monthly steel challenge. Every week Frank shot trap and skeet with his friends. He would always step-up in a crisis. He was a loyal friend and he enjoyed helping others. Many will dearly miss him.
Frank was married to Dorothy (Baldwin) Warren until she passed away in 2002. Frank is the son of the late Dorothy (Spargo) Warren and Ernest Warren. His brothers Claude Warren, Ernest Warren and Everette Warren preceded him in death.
Left to cherish their memories of Frank are his daughter, Tracey Patrick and her significant other Rick Smolicz, his sister Ann Hedman and her husband Larry, and his brother Ted Warren. The family’s special friends Rebecca Weathers, Sarah Weathers, Morgan Weather and Nick Weathers are also grieving his loss.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Wednesday September 29, 2021 at Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia. Entombment will follow the visitation in a private committal at Forest Lawn West in Charlotte where he will be laid to rest by his dear wife for eternity.
