Kay H Dees

Ms. Dees was a native of Gaston County and the daughter of the late Willie Neal Hawkins and Evelyn Sumner Hawkins Brown.

She was recognized for 37 years of service to the State of NC as a secretary in Gaston County Schools and was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church for 60 years.

Ms. Dees is survived by a daughter, Rita Dees Ware and husband Grady of Hillsborough; a son, Eric Dees and wife Terri of Stanley; three grandsons, Eric Dees II and wife Laura, Bishop Sean Dees and wife Briana, Rev. Patrick Dees and wife Dana; three great granddaughters Camille Dees, Anna Dees, Isabel Dees and a great grandson, Patrick Dees Jr.; sister-in-law, Ann Rice Dees of Gastonia; also special neighbors, Sara Jones Kaylor, Ray and Judy Kaylor, Stephen and Cecelia Kaylor, Billy Kaylor and Mr. And Mrs James Biggers all of Gastonia.

Ms. Dees was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 53 years Judd Carroll Dees.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday at The Coloniel Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia with the Bishop Sean Dees officiating.

Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home
