Kimberly Chandler Deese

A loving devoted wife, mother and grandmother best describes Kim Chandler Deese who went to be with Jesus November 15, 2017 after a long illness. Kim was born September 16, 1960 in Mecklenburg County to the late James and Julia (Broyles) Chandler. Kim worked as an administrative assistant for the Piedmont Council Boy Scouts of America. She was a professional photographer who loved taking family photos and pictures at other special events including weddings. She was an animal lover, especially horses. Kim spent many hours riding throughout her lifetime and enjoyed teaching her grandchildren to ride also. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was known to have them spend many nights at her home. She enjoyed a wonderful close relationship with them. Kim and Joe were active in Mid Carolina Tres Dias and members of East Lincoln Campus of Grace Covenant Church in Denver, NC. Kim will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Joe Deese of Gastonia, NC; two children, James “Clint” Edwards and wife, Amber of Canton, NC, Julia Reed and husband, Bryan of Gastonia, NC, step-daughters, Alicia Holmes of Concord, NC and Kristen Ressler and husband, Nick of Lincolnton, NC; brother, Mitch Chandler and wife, Teresa of Wellford, SC, sister, Angela Kendrick of Clayton, GA; brother-in-law, Mike Deese and wife, Brenda of Forest City, NC, sister-in-law, Teresa Heath and husband, Rick of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, Michael and Zoey Parham, Boston and Braylin Reed, four step-grandchildren, Taylor and Rachel Holmes, Caleb Preston and Peyton Ressler; her beloved dog, Jed.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Grace Covenant Church, 17301 Statesville Road, Cornelius, NC. Reverend Bill Gittner, Reverend Farrell Lemings and Reverend Jeremy Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia, NC.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Friday, November 17th at Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, NC 28054.
