
A loving and selfless mother… To know her was to love her… Never met a stranger… These are just a few qualities and traits of Margaret Ann “Margie” Baker, 73, who passed away at her residence on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 with her family by her side. To know her was to love her. Margie loved cooking and baking, especially fresh vegetables from her garden. Crocheting was a hobby of hers. A loving mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren loved her dearly. Margie loved giving gifts to her family and others. She would do without to help others in time of need.
She was the daughter of the late Millard Hanson and Mildred Smith Tuck Hanson.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Charles E. Baker.
Those left behind top cherish her memories are her two daughters and sons in law: Vicky and Jimmy Clark of Clover, South Carolina along with Dee and Fritz Blakley of Gastonia, North Carolina; two sons and daughter in law: Nick and Sandy Baker, Ricky Baker all of London, Kentucky; three grandchildren: Shannon Harrell, Charles Blakley and wife Krysta, Brittany Blakley and Fiance’ Chance; two great grandchildren: Jordan Harrell and Hailey-Jo Harrell; one sister: Debbie McGurty of Huntington, West Virginia; three brothers and sisters in law: Clarence and Pat Tuck of Cabot Arkansas, Cleve and Claudia Tuck of Florida, Ted and Gloria Hanson of Auto, West Virginia; Multiple nieces and nephews also survive; her beloved Yorkie, “Gunner” and cat “Snuggles”.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, North Carolina.
