She retired from the Handy Pantry Store on Myrtle School Road.
Mrs. Dougherty is survived by son, Eugene Dougherty; daughter, Mary Jane Kimsey ; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P. M. to 8:00 P. M. Monday at Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P. M. Tuesday at The Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Ware officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
Mrs. Dougherty was preceded in death by her mother Rittie Mathis; husband, John Dougherty; daughters, Janice Johnson, Otie Smith.
