Matthew Robert Kurth

Matthew Robert Kurth, 49, of Stanley passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday July 20, 2022. Matthew was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. Matthew was a very friendly person. He would talk to anybody. He enjoyed his motorcycle, Jet Ski and driving remote cars. He worked in the airline industry as an aviation mechanic. He leaves behind many who will dearly miss him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rubi (Aguilar-Jimenez) Kurth of the home, and his children, daughter Courtney Marie Kurth and son Anthony M. Hurley. Missing his grandfather is his grandson, Jake “Junior” William Young, Jr. His parents Mary Lou (McGhen) Kurth and Thomas J. Kurth, Jr. are grieving his loss. He also leaves behind his brother Jay T. Kurth and his wife Lori. Other extended family members are also missing Matthew.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Wednesday July 27, 2022 at Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday July 28, 2022 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 708 St. Michaels Lane, Gastonia. Father Rossi will officiate.

In lieu of flowers it is suggested that donations be directed the family to help defray the cost of the funeral.
