Morris Thompson, 80, beloved husband of Vicky Thompson, passed away peacefully in his home in the early hours of January 7, 2025. Morris was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather (lovingly called "Caddy" by his grandchildren).
Morris was born in Gastonia, NC, on August 8, 1944. He was the third child of Marlin and Merle Thompson. His siblings are Faye Brown, Jerry Thompson, and Danny Thompson. In addition to his wife of 60 years, Morris is survived by his beloved daughter, Ashley E. Stansell of Clemmons, NC, (R. Bruce Stansell) and four grandchildren: Matthew Stansell, Joy Stansell, Hannah Stansell, and Benjamin Stansell.
A visitation with family and friends will be held Saturday, the 18th of January, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, NC 28054. A funeral service will occur Saturday, the 18th of January, 2025 at 12:00 PM in Cardinal Hall at the Funeral home. A committal service will follow at Gaston Memorial Park. Bearing the Casket of Mr. Thompson will be Benjamin Stansell, Brett Thompson, Michael Blankenship Michael Umbach, and Jay Falls.
