A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Jonas Leroy and Ruby Bell Stroup.
Mrs. Baker was a lifelong member of Olney Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her son, James Stroup Baker and wife Debra of Gastonia; grandchildren, April Thomas, Sara Baker, James V. Baker; great grandsons, Chase Thomas and Hunter McKinney.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Rudolph Baker.
A funeral service will be held 12:45 p.m. Sunday at Olney Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Mike Sears and Bud Grissom officiating.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from noon to 12:45 p.m. Sunday at the church prior to the service.
