Sheila D. Yokeley

Sheila Yokeley, 65, went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 18, 2015 at home surrounded by her family. She was born August 15, 1949 in Gaston Co. the daughter of the late Carl William McDonald and Ruth Louise Barlowe.

Sheila was a mighty woman of God. Her love for the Lord led her to be a tremendous prayer warrior. She enjoyed listening to and singing gospel music and spent many hours at a time doing just that. She was the epitome of energetic, fun and entertaining. Sheila was a loving wife, awesome mother, loving grandmother and a precious sister and will be missed by all.

Survivors left to cherish Sheila’s memory include her loving husband William (Bill) Yokeley of Gastonia; son and daughter in law: Mr. and Mrs. Jeff (Crystal) Williams of Gastonia; daughter and Son in law: Mr. & Mrs. Wyatt (Angel) Cole of Gastonia; daughter: Ms. Michelle Williams of Gastonia; stepsons: Mr. & Mrs. Michael (Devin) Yokeley of Greensboro and Mr. & Mrs. Jon (Melanie) Yokeley of Greensboro; grandchildren: Christopher Williams, Hannah Williams, Chandler Williams, Nadya Bradshaw and Brinkley Bradshaw all of Gastonia; great granddaughter: Callie Williams; sisters: Mr. & Mrs. Jerry (Diane) Martin of Lincolnton, Mr. & Mrs. Ronnie (Katrina) Callahan of Shelby, Mr. & Mrs. Dennis (Kathy) Costner of Bessemer City; brothers: Mr. Rick McDonald, Sr. of Kings Mtn., Mr. & Mrs. Danny (Neesie) McDonald of Belmont as well as two nieces and six nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister in law Shelby McDonald.

A visitation will be held at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 followed by a service at 3:00. Entombment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park’s Mausoleum of Peace.
