

Ted W. Ervin, 76 passed away February 1, 2014. He was born March 11, 1937 in Lowell, NC to the late Willie and Gladys Ollis Ervin. He later lived in Clover, SC. Ted worked in his early years for Beaunit trucking as a driver; also as a Gaston County Deputy Sheriff and then decided to open his own business, Ted Ervin Autos. For over 25 years he provided pre-owned vehicles to the hardworking people by financing them himself. Before succumbing to emphysema, heart disease and Parkinson’s he enjoyed trips to the beach and gardening. Ted loved life with all his being and fought a long hard and courageous battle.
Ted is survived by a daughter and her husband, Terri and Joe Duffy; grandson, Andy and wife Katie; great-grandson Finn, his pride and joy; brother, Bill and wife Colleen Ervin, sister, Ann Lowery; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Ted was preceded in death by his wife, Anne McAlister Ervin and one brother, Gene Ervin.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice and Community Care of Rock Hill, SC for their compassionate care, Caro Mont Hospital, Caro Mont Heart, Gaston Medical Specialty and Carolina Urology for their excellent care.
Also a special thank you to his longtime companion Ms. Becky and her daughter Dee and husband, Mark and Becky’s parents, Jack and Margie who became good loving friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Ted’s favorite charity, Holy Angels. That would make him smile. Blessed be.
