William Vernon "Vernon" Moss

A loving husband, father and grandfather… A man who loved to and was willing to help others… These are just a few words that speak about the character of William “Vernon” Moss… Vernon loved taking care of his yard, flowers and garden. He and Carolyn would travel, they loved the mountains and attending plays at the theatre. He had a long standing career in the trucking industry. Vernon was a graduate of King’s College where he received his business degree.

Vernon was the son of the late Henry Haskell Moss and Elva Elizabeth West Moss. He was preceded in death by his sister Lena Moss.

Those left behind to cherish the memories of Vernon are his wife of 53 years Carolyn Joyce Jackson Moss of the home; daughter: Angela Moss of Oak Ridge Tennessee; son and daughter in law: Michael and Cindy Moss of Rock Hill, South Carolina; granddaughter: Stephanie Moss of Lowell, North Carolina; former daughter in law and mother of Stephanie: Dawn Moss.

Funeral services for Vernon will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, North Carolina with Reverend Kelly Lowe to officiate.

Graveside and committal service will follow at Edgewood Cemetery in Lowell, North Carolina.

The family will receive friends form 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM prior to the service.
