Allen Henry Desorcie departed from this life to join his heavenly Father on the evening of March 21, 2018, due to ill health. Allen was born in Highgate Center, Vermont on May 23, 1937 to Philias S. Desorcie and Gladys I. (Lothian) Desorcie. After graduating from Catholic high school and attending two years of college, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. Allen was Honorably Discharged in January 1962. Allen married Patricia Ann Ouimette on August 25, 1962 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Highgate Center, Vermont.
In 1975, Allen and family moved to Austin, Texas for work. Allen worked for Glastron Boat Company and Electro-Mechanic Company. Allen was installed as an Acolyte at St. Louis Catholic Church and then was ordained as Permanent Deacon for the Austin Diocese in July 1988. He became the Parish Business Administrator in 1998 for St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, retiring from that position in May of 2007. Allen was a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #12522 in Andice, Texas. Allen has been very active in his entire church ministry.
Allen was predeceased by his parents and brother, Joseph Desorcie.
Allen is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia; children, Lynne Cardenas of Round Rock, Texas, Judith Desorcie of Raleigh, North Carolina, Michael Desorcie and wife Jayne of Rochester, Minnesota and Sandra Vranich and husband Rob of Round Rock, Texas; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brother Daniel Desorcie and wife Judy of St. Albans, Vermont; and sisters, Elaine Boudreau of Essex Junction, Vermont and Martha DeCoigne and husband Ronald of St. Albans, Vermont.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 26, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with a Vigil Service at 6:00 P.M. at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78628. Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 9500 Neenah Avenue, Austin, Texas 78717 on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 2:30 P.M. Graveside service to follow at Cook-Walden Capital Park Cemetery, 14501 North Interstate Highway 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
