

Alonzo (Al) Addison Cummins, Jr. died peacefully in his sleep on December 25, 2016 in Georgetown, Texas. Al was born in Del Rio, Texas on November 6, 1930 to A. A. Cummins, Sr. and Estelle Brymer Cummins. He grew up in El Paso, Eagle Pass, Crystal City and San Benito as his father managed JC Penny stores along the border of Texas.
A Celebration Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Main Street Baptist Church, Georgetown, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking memorials be sent to our son Tim's evangelistic ministry: Whirlwind Missions, 5935 New Peachtree Road, Doraville, GA 30340.
Al was a graduate of San Benito High School, Baylor University and Southwestern Seminary. Churches where he pastored were County Line, Belton; Sparks, Academy; First Baptist Karnes City; Southmore, Pasadena; First Baptist, Georgetown; Hoover Valley, Burnet and The Worship Place, Sun City. He served 20 years as missionary in Kenya and Tanzania, East Africa.
Al is survived by Peggy, his wife of 59 years; his sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Kathy Cummins of Atlanta, Georgia and Jim and Kathy Cummins of Georgetown, Texas; granddaughters, Olivia Hunt and her husband David of Georgetown, Texas; great granddaughters, Sadie and Harper, Ashley Kendall and her husband Miles of Clarkston, Georgia, and Penelope and Katie Cummins of Georgetown, Texas; grandsons, Jacob Cummins and his wife, Elizabeth of Houston, Texas and Jesse Cummins of Doraville, Georgia; sister, Barbara Cave of Austin, Texas; niece, Cathy Cartwright and her husband Jack of Austin, Texas; and nephews, Rev. Mike Cave and his wife Ginger of Hunt, Texas, Tom Cave and his wife Cindy of Richardson, Texas, Bill Nance and his wife Patrice of Port Aransas, Texas, and Bob Nance and his wife, Norma of San Antonio, Texas.
