Angeline P. Simek, resident of Willacy County, Texas for over 65 years found her final peace on May 19, 2012. Angeline was born on a farm in Weir, Texas on April 20, 1919, daughter of Thomas and Rozalie (Zicha) Kajs. She attended Holy Trinity Catholic School along with her siblings, where they rode to school by horse-drawn buggy. Angeline married Louis Simek in 1943. They moved to the Rio Grande Valley in 1946 and purchased a farm in 1950. She pursued a GED and college degree after the age of 50, and worked in the public schools in Harlingen and at the Willacy County Tax Office for 17 1/2 years.
She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Raymondville, Texas where she helped with all church activities, especially the Altar Society. She was known for her kolache making. She was a member of the KJZT, a Catholic woman's Society for over 75 years.
She was a wonderful wife, mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great-great grand aunt and sister. It seemed that whatever project she undertook turned out well, including sewing, crocheting, crafting, cooking, baking, gardening and playing 42 (dominoes) just to name a few.
Angeline was preceded in death by her husband, Louis and her daughter Mary Carolyn and most of her siblings.

A special thanks to Missy, Helen and Olivia, Angie's special angels, her grand nephews and nieces and her great-grand nieces, the ladies of the St. Anthony Altar Society, and the seniors of the Sebastian Senior Center, who all celebrated life with Angie.
