Anna Nadine Wink (nee Osmon) of Georgetown, TX passed suddenly on August 21, 2023 at 84 years of age. Wife of retired professor and university administrator Jon D. Wink, prior to her recent relocation to Georgetown (her second time as a resident) Nadine was a long-time resident of Lubbock and Nacogdoches TX, and also lived in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Seattle, and Ohio.
Nadine was born in San Antonio, TX in 1938 of German and Irish parents whose histories tell the story of Texas. Upon graduation from High School in San Antonio, she attended the University of Texas in Austin where her artistic skills flourished, and she met fellow artist and love of her life Jon. They married in August of 1960 and happily celebrated their 63 years of marriage.
Throughout her life, Nadine added her artistry to everything she touched: from her home - which was always just perfect; to her time as Curator at the Museum of East Texas; to the plants and flowers which were a constant part of her life and volunteer service. Her care and compassion were evident through her numerous volunteer opportunities, with those she loved and cared for, as well as with the many children she nurtured through Mother’s Day Out at First Methodist Church of Nacogdoches.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Frank Oszmon and Velma Gahan, and by her brother Frank Osmon. She is survived by her husband Jon D. Wink, her three children Gary Wink, Natalie Wiesehuegel, and Anson Wink; and by her four grandchildren Stephanie and Catherine Wiesehuegel, Devn Wink, and Barrett Wink.
A small family visitation at Cook-Walden/Davis Funeral Home, and subsequent service at Grace Episcopal Church, was held on Friday August 25, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of her brother Frank, or in the name of any of those who suffer from this disease.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.cookwaldendavisfuneralhome.com for the Wink family.
