Betty Ann Hanson

Betty Stewart Hanson, Age 85 of Austin, Texas passed away on January 20th, 2023.  Betty was born April 23, 1937, in Austin, Texas to A L Stewart and Dorothy Stewart. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Bob J. Hanson, her father, A. L. Stewart, mother Dorothy Stewart, sister Dorothy Jean Uzzell and her brother Coronel Arthur Stewart and his wife Helen Stewart.  

She was part of the first Senior Class to graduate at William B. Travis High School in 1953.  She was a Cheerleader and enjoyed singing in a group call the “The Stairsteps” during high school.

Betty’s biggest enjoyment was being around family, friends and raising her 5 kids.  She used to love having a picnic on our family property at Lake Travis and every time we would have a get together, it would rain. It was a big family joke that she would never leave the house without a shower curtain to cover up the food.

Betty is survived by her 5 Children:  Cole Hanson of Austin, Texas, Wendy Keith and husband Greg Keith of Georgetown, Texas, Holly Crain of Austin, Texas, Clay Hanson and wife Dee Hanson of Round Rock, Texas, Krystal Hanson of Liberty Hill, Texas and 3 grandchildren: Kolton Keith, Skylar Crain, and Brandon Pratt. Duana & Rich Sewell were lifelong friends and her niece, Dianne Edwards, were all very dear to her heart.

The family will hold a closed casket visitation at The Gabriel’s Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas on Thursday, January 26th from 6:00 pm – 8 p.m., On Friday, January 27th @ 11:00 a.m., there will be a private service at the Family Cemetery (Teck Cemetery) in Lakeway, Texas.
