

Carol Sue (Roberts) Sutton, Age 64, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015. Carol was born June 28, 1950 in Austin to Marie Norwood Roberts and Marvin Daniel Roberts. She graduated from Lanier High School and the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She completed her degree after her own two children started school. As a wonderful mother and grandmother, Carol shared her love for the outdoors. She had a passion for the beach, and for kayaking. She encouraged her children and grandchildren through Church Camps. She served as a camp counselor or business manager at Camp Sionito for close to twenty years. Another passion Carol shared with her family and friends was quilting. As a biology and chemistry teacher at Taylor High School, Carol extended her loving parenting skills into the classroom. She not only taught the sciences, but provided nurture to students for 26 years. She made learning fun and organized many Science Club trips. In 2006, Carol received a call to the ministry and was ordained a Priest in the Community of Christ. Carol is preceded in death by her father and a granddaughter, Lauren Nicole Miller. She is survived by her mother, Marie Roberts, and by Larry Sutton, her husband of 44 years, daughter Emily Miller and her husband, Jeffrey, son Matthew Sutton and his wife, Jami, and six grandchildren: Katelyn and Weston Miller, Madison, Zachary, Abbygail, and Caroline Sutton, her brother, Dan Roberts, and wife Lyn, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services at the Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown, Saturday, April 18 at 10 a.m. Visitation on Friday evening, 6 - 8 p.m.
