Claude Edward Dotson was born April 11, 1941 in Dripping Springs, Texas, the son of General Marion and Hazel Velma (Dyer) Dotson. He passed from this life June 13, 2022 in Temple, Texas at the age of 81.
Claude had been a resident of Jarrell for the past 47 years, moving there from Florida. He proudly served his country in both the United States Navy and the United States Army Reserves. Claude worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator and was a member of the Strickland Grove Church of Christ. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, playing the guitar and flying planes. His favorite times were spent with his family and loving on his grandchildren. Claude and Ruth Willmott were united in marriage on April 11, 1971 in Englewood, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Boyd Willmott; brother, Tiny Dotson and 2 sisters-in-law, Renate Dotson and Bonnie Dotson. He is survived by his wife of 51, years, Ruth Dotson; daughters and son-in-law, Nanette Hughes, Claudette Price and husband Emile; grandchildren, Shelby Dotson, Dakota Dotson, Ethan Hughes, Angel Price, Emile Price, Jr., Haley Price, Noah Mouton and Olivia Mouton; great-grandchildren, Lyric, Skyler, Edward, Kinley, Junior and two on the way, Claude James and Baby Price; sister, Emma Bell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donnie Dotson and wife Sandy, Dale Dotson and wife Susan; sister-in-law, Peggy Bostwick and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 4-8pm at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 11:00 am at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cornhill Cemetery in Jarrell.
