David will be remembered for his love of family and sports, especially football and golf. He played football for Southwestern University until he suffered a severe injury. After recovering he went on to play for the University of Texas where he received his engineering degree. After college he went to work for Houston Oilfield and Material Company (HOMCO) and ended his career at Bowen Tools Inc.
During World War II, he adapted machinery to make armaments for the war effort, and during his career he had designs that were given patents. After retirement he was a machinery consultant, having clients around the world.
David Jameson was raised by his grandparents and father after his mother died when he was two years old. Because of his early life he treasured family and holidays, especially Christmas where he over-decorated the tree and the house and bought way too many gifts much to the delight of his children. He never met a stranger and always delighted everyone with jokes and stories. UT and Aggie jokes were among his favorite and he never missed a UT football game on TV or the radio. He was a passionate fan.
He is preceded in death by his wife Mildred Galey Jameson and his eldest daughter Carolyn Pruitt wife of John Stadtler.
He is survived by his daughters Jan Moore (John) and Frances Sanders (John) and his son John Harmon Jameson (Sherry), as well as 18 grandchildren and numerous great grand children.
His family would like to thank the staff of Scott and White Hospital in Round Rock and especially the nurses on the fourth floor as well as Dr. Dorrah who were so patient and loving to this extraordinary man.
