Dennis Lee Joyner

It is with a heavy heart that his wife announces the passing of Dennis Lee Joyner, age 74, on December 23, 2021 in Georgetown, Texas. He was born on June 29, 1947 to Verona "Aloha" and Herbert Joyner in Anderson, Indiana. He was a loving, generous husband, kind, caring neighbor and friend.

He worked for the phone company until he became a police officer in Phoenix, Arizona. He retired from the Phoenix Police Department as a Sergeant after 25 years of service. After retiring, he moved back to Texas where he was raised. He volunteered at Georgetown PD before being hired in the Code Enforcement Division of the Georgetown PD.

Dennis was preceded in death by his mother, Verona "Aloha" Chase and Stepfather, Charles Chase; his father Herbert Joyner and stepmother, Dorothy Joyner. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Cheryl Lynn Joyner, and her three children, Christina (Shaun) Affeldt, Daniel (Sarahy) Rudder, Michael (Cassandra) Rudder, and six grandchildren, Logan, Sophie, Joe, Blake, Wade and Dottie.

Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, March 14, 2022 at 4:30pm at the Georgetown Police Department, 3500 DB Wood Road, Georgetown, Texas..
