Dorothy Mae Rhodes

Dorothy Mae Rhodes, 90 of Georgetown, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2010. A memorial service celebrating Dorothy’s life and her faith will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH 35, Georgetown, Texas 78628, with Reverend John Alemán officiating. Dorothy was born June 13, 1920 in Baytown, Texas to the late Alfred H. and Ida Zola Jennings Enderli. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William Harvey Rhodes in April of 2010, 9 brothers and sisters, and her first husband and the father of her children, Hans Detlef Lionel Iwers in December of 1968. Dorothy was raised Baytown, Texas but lived with her husband Hans in the Houston area for many years. After his death, she married William Harvey Rhodes. She moved with her husband in the early 1990’s to Kingsland, Texas. Dorothy and Harvey lived in Kingsland until 2009. Dorothy was an avid golfer and enjoyed the time she and Harvey were able to play together. Dorothy leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving son, Gary Iwers and his wife Marsha of Georgetown, their children, Nichole Harvey and Danielle Dotson and husband Scotty, and three great grandchildren; her loving daughter Kathy King of Dallas, her children Mecca Robbins and her husband Shawn, Amber Ortega, Jared King, and Kalli Whitley and 11 great grandchildren along with numerous other beloved friends.
