Edward Valdez, Jr.

Edward Valdez, Jr., 47 a native of Georgetown passed away on Monday, August 3, 2009 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH 35, Georgetown, from 12:00PM to 8:00PM with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Helen's Catholic Church on Monday, August 10, 2009. Interment will follow at Georgetown Memorial Cemetery. Edward was born in Georgetown on September 15, 1961 to Edward Valdez, Sr. and Helen Reyna Valdez. Edward is preceded in death by his father, Edward Valdez, Sr. in 1997. Edward has been a long time member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church here in Georgetown. He has work in the construction industry as a masonry worker for many years. Edward leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving daughters, Vickie and Katrina; son, Edwin Muniz; his mother, Helen Valdez; the mother of his children, Barbara Muniz; his sisters, Gloria Zapata and her husband Domingo, Jr., Becky Diaz and her husband Richard, Sylvia DeValle; brother, Gilbert Valdez; her grandchildren, Kianna Muniz, Isaiah Muniz, Brianna Ross, Christopher Muniz, and Edwin Muniz, Jr.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
