
Eileen Scott, 90, of Georgetown, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 17, 2015. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 23, 2015 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH 35, Georgetown, TX. A service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 12:30pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 809 Northwood St., Houston, TX 77009 with Pastor Jordan Cobb officiating. Interment will be at Brookside Cemetery. Honoring Mrs. Scott as pallbearers will be Jeff Burchfield, Terry Domino, Louis Aguilar, Mike Cannon, Jeffrey Hunt and Zach Barnett. Mrs. Scott was born September 6, 1924 in Liverpool, England to John and May Mitchell. She lost both of her parents at a young age and relied on her two brothers who helped raise her. While still in England Mrs. Scott met the man she would marry, a young soldier from the US named Sir Walter Scott, Jr. In 1944 at the age of 20, Mrs. Scott sailed to the US on the Queen Mary to live in Houston with her husband. After committing her life to Christ she devoted herself to teaching young children about Jesus in Sunday School, Children's Church and Vacation Bible School. She was a loving wife to her husband, devoted mother to her four children, and tireless caregiver to her many grandchildren and great grandchildren Mrs. Scott is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Walter Scott, her parents John and May Mitchell, and her brothers Jack Mitchell and Denny Mitchell. She leaves behind to cherish her memory: daughters, Yvonne Burchfield and husband Paul; Barbara Domino and husband Jerry; Brenda Caswell; son, Bryan Scott and wife Cheryl; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and many other loving family and friends.
