

Elaine Hord Fawcett, 90, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away January 9, 2017. Elaine was born in Hillsboro, Texas to Brooks and Laurine Hord on January 8, 1927. She attended Hillsboro High School where she was involved in many school activities and played on the basketball team.
Elaine married her high school sweetheart, Walter Fawcett, in 1946 in Hillsboro. They lived in Pensacola, Florida while Walter served in the United States Navy and then in Waco, Texas during his studies at Baylor University, before settling in Houston, Texas where Elaine owned a boutique for many years. They returned to their hometown of Hillsboro in the early 90’s and Elaine enjoyed owning and operating her very own gift and antiques shop.
Elaine was a passionate sports fan cheering on her favorite teams, the Baylor Bears and the Houston Texans. She loved the game of golf and developed into a great player. On any given day you could catch her loving on her dogs, cooking gourmet meals, or spending countless hours laboring in her beautiful gardens. She had immense talent as an artist when her brush met the canvas. Nothing lifted her spirit more than spending time with her grandsons, Sean and Allan, and great-granddaughter, Olive. For these things she will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Elaine was a dedicated member of Faith Lutheran Church in Georgetown, Texas.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Fawcett; grandson, Allan Dumesnil and wife Lee Ann Dumesnil; grandson, Sean Dumesnil; great-granddaughter, Olive; brother-in-law, Darryl Fawcett and wife Gloria: sister-in-law, Bettye Fawcett; and very special friend, Sandra Seals.
Elaine’s family honors her memory and visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. Funeral service will be held Sunday, January 15, 2017 at 3:00pm, also at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home. Interment will be held on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 11:00am at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro, Texas.
