

Elmer W. “Bill” Brown, 69, of Georgetown, Texas, formerly of Las Vegas, Nevada and Olivia, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, July 26th, 2014, due to respiratory failure after a long battle with cancer.
Elmer was born in Hutchinson, Minnesota on December 31, 1944, the son of the late Bernard and Ida (Collier) Brown. He graduated from Olivia High School and joined the United States Army in 1962.
Elmer married Maria Schneck on January 31, 1970 in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany; they were married for 44 years.
Elmer honorably served his country 21 years, as a paratrooper and electronic technician, also having volunteered for and fought in the Vietnam War. In December 1983, he retired as a Master Sergeant but continued to work closely with the U.S. military as an employee of government contract companies, until retiring a second time in September 2006.
Elmer is survived by his wife Maria Brown, daughters Tanja (Brown) Calder & Tammy (Brown) Juarbe, sons-in-law Doug Calder & Anthony Juarbe, grandchildren Cole Calder, Jenna Calder, Ian Juarbe, & Brennan Juarbe, siblings Maxine (Brown) Schmit, Thomas Brown, Anna (Brown) Beecroft, Patrick Brown, Barbara (Brown) Lampher, Marian (Brown) Gartner, David Brown, and Bridget (Brown) Lemke, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Bernard Brown Jr.
A graveside service will be held at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas on Friday, August 8th, 2014 at 11:00a.m.
