Estelle (Skeeter) Kimbro passed away peacefully at her daughter's home on June 30, 2021 at the age of 93. She was born October 3, 1927 in Leander, Texas to Reuben and Lorena Caluette. At an early age, they moved to Georgetown and then Florence. In 1946 she married George Kimbro. They courted mostly by mail, during WWII. To this union, they had a daughter, Shirley. Skeeter and George were married 54 years, until his death in 2000.
She was a very generous, forgiving, loving lady. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends.
Later in life, she spent endless hours on the phone, keeping up with everyone she knew. Her door was always open and her kitchen full of welcome food. Estelle worked at Westside Grocery and retired from Giddings Furniture as a seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, infant sister, Ruby Irene and 3 brothers, William (Cowboy), Robert (Dudge) and Reuben (Wink) Caluette.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley and Charles Hipp of Georgetown; granddaughter, Rebecca and Ben Schafer of Temple; grandsons, Charles Ryan Hipp and Danielle and Rob Hipp and Bridget of Georgetown. Also, great-granddaughters, Zoe and Breanna Schafer of Temple.
Aunt Sis leaves behind numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends of which she loved dearly!
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. in the San Gabriel Room of Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Whiteley Cemetery in Georgetown, Texas.
