Gregoria Hernandez

Gregoria Hernandez peacefully entered into eternal rest at the age of 86 on November 18, 2023. She is survived by her only son Ernest Hernandez (Becky), her three grandchildren, Erica Smith (Julio), Nate Hernandez (Natalia), Shawn Hernandez, her great grandson, Cruz Smith, and three siblings, Sally Guzman, Teresa Carreon and Angelita Faris.

She was preceded in death by her husband Sotero “Joe” Hernandez, parents Santos and Elena Moreno, and siblings Jose Moreno and Dominga Sifuentes.

Gregoria Hernandez was born to Santos and Elena Moreno on May 25, 1937 in Karnes City, Texas. The family soon moved to Crosbyton, Texas. There she met her husband, Joe. They married and later relocated to his hometown of Jarrell, Texas.

Gregoria’s favorite pastimes were dancing and going to garage sales and flea markets. She had an extensive collection of knick knacks and porcelain dolls. Even so, she valued nothing more than her family.

Family was the most important thing to her. Her son Ernest was her only child but her grandchildren and great- grandson filled that void. They were her world and pride and joy.
