Irma was born on September 23, 1942 in Ciudad Victoria Tamaulipas. She was baptized in Iglesia Santa Pentecostes Tamps Mexico May 7, 1956 where her father was a pastor. The family later moved to Elgin, Texas when Irma was at the young age of 17. She endured obstacles upon her arrival, being a Spanish speaking lady; however, she was a bright, self-taught young lady of many talents. Sewing and gardening were her passions. Later in her life, she volunteered with Park Rangers, Blue Santa and Brown Santa. The Caring Place was her favorite social gathering place. She was always ready to give anyone a ride wherever they needed to go.
She met the love of her life, Thomas Zamora Diaz, Jr. and they were married December 12, 1964. They shared a beautiful life together of 37 years.
Irma is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Zamora Diaz, Jr.; daughter, Yolanda Jolli Diaz; great grandson, Anthony Valdez; parents, Guadalupe and Olivia Cepeda Sanchez and brothers; Raymundo Sanchez and Ascencion (Ace) Sanchez.
