Isaac Keith Mooney passed away on December 23, 2021 at the age of 26 years old. He was born in Austin, Texas on June 17, 1995 to Darryle and Karen Mooney, joining his two sisters Amanda, and Christie, and then Deliah. He was a member of St. Mary’s Missionary Baptist church where he attended Sunday School and bible study regularly, and was also a youth usher and sang in the youth choir. He accepted JESUS CHRIST as his Lord and Savior at the young age of 5 years old. Isaac began playing organized basketball in grade school over the summer for ATX Boys where he played in tournaments both locally and out of town. He also received his first-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and led Park Crest Middle School band as first chair in the trombone section. He was a part of the Pflugerville High School basketball team from his freshman to senior year.
Isaac attended the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas from 2014- 2019 where he majored in Logistics and Supply-Chain Management, and later received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Logistics. As a freshman, he placed top four out of 800 entries in an Innovative Tech competition. During his time at UNT he allowed his passion and love for the Lord to work through his actions. He led bible studies in between and after his classes and assisted in helping other students get to church and receive Christ. He took several mission trips across the United States with other young saints; many of which he became close friends with. At the time of his passing, Isaac decided to pursue his calling in the dental field and was a week away from his dental assistant license. He would have been set to travel to West Africa in January with other medical professionals on a mission trip to medically assist less fortunate Mauritanian people.
Isaac was also a musician having played the trombone throughout middle school and the guitar in his free time and for praise/worship at his church meetings. He also loved poetry and expressed himself through writing, Christian rap and other arts. Isaac had a passion for traveling and did a lot of vacationing with his family. He was friendly, humble, genuine and had an incredible sense of humor. He loved to laugh a lot with his sisters and friends and touched everyone with his infectious calm smile. He enjoyed cooking healthy foods and sharing his dishes with bible groups and family members during holidays and get togethers. Most of all, he loved to read the bible in his free time and spread the gospel as much as he could. His incredible love for God and beautiful spirit will never be forgotten.
