Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janice; his parents, Karl and Fern; his brother, Max; and his sister-in-law, Donna.
He is survived by his loving family: his daughters, Sandy (David) and Kate; his grandchildren, Andrew (Hannah) and their children, Wesley and Beau, and Sydney (fiancé, Carlo); and his brother, Lynn (Johnnie). He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends. He shared a special bond with his nephew Karlton, often talking for hours about races and staying closely connected with him, and he treasured his relationships with all of his nieces and nephews.
Jack was devoted to his family, who were truly the center of his life.
Jack enjoyed NASCAR and rarely missed a race, always cheering on his favorite drivers. He loved working on cars and spending time outdoors, happiest when he was “digging in the dirt” or fixing something with his hands. Those simple moments brought him real joy and were a big part of who he was.
He had a natural way of making people feel at ease. His laugh came easily, his smile was genuine, and time spent with him was always better because of it. Jack never met a stranger, and it didn’t take long for anyone he met to feel like a friend. That was just his way.
More than anything, Jack cherished time spent with those he loved. His legacy is one of kindness, laughter, and unwavering love.
A celebration of life will be held on May 16 at 10:30 AM at First United Methodist Church in Georgetown, Texas. A service will also be held in Grain Valley, Missouri, with details to be announced.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to First United Methodist Church of Georgetown, Texas, for being his second family.
Happy trails, Dad. We love you.
