

In 1952, Jane married Robert E. Boone and they had four children: Michael, Patricia, Martha, and John. Jane also had ten grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Following the death of her husband “Bob” Boone in 1986, Jane married Ralph Long in 1991. They had been married almost 19 years at the time of Jane’s death.
Jane was a very vibrant, active person. She earned a B.A. in history at the University of Maryland extension in Tripoli, Libya in 1968. She later completed her graduate coursework at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia but her husband was transferred to Lagos, Nigeria before she could present her master’s thesis.
Jane had acquired a taste for travel and was proud of the fact that she had visited some 102 countries. She was always happy to be planning a trip, on a trip, making photo albums to remember past trips, or thinking about where she would like to go next. She also instilled this love of travel in her grandchildren by taking them on one-on-one adventures on various continents.
Jane was an avid bridge player, and was a member and an officer of several social, civic, and church organizations. She was an elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Georgetown, and at one time, served as Trustee. She was a good Christian and an absolutely wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She will be greatly missed.
Jane is survived by her husband Ralph, his four children and two grandchildren; her son Mike and wife Susan, of Houston, Texas; daughter Pat and husband David Peterson of Georgetown, Texas and San Jose, California; daughter Marti and husband Tom Mattia of New Haven, Connecticut; son John and wife Katherine of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by grandchildren: Jennifer Wilson, Allison Brothers and her husband Homer, Air Force Captain James Wilson and his wife Camille, Jessica Boone, Katherine (Katie) Wilson, Mary Mattia, Caitlin Jane Mattia, Matthew Mattia, John Sprague Boone II (Sprague), and Robert Dewey Boone; and by a great-grandson, Homer Ollen Brothers IV.

A Memorial Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Georgetown, Texas on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at four o’clock in the afternoon.
