Mr Williams was my mentor and taught me so much about selling and customer service, he was truly a Southern Gentlemen and I think of him every day and miss him.

I'm John's cousin Mary Jo from Littlefield.   I have a sweet memory of John.  Soon after his release from the navy, he got a new car and decided to bring his mother (Aunt Pinkie) and two sisters (Ann and Mary Margaret) to see us in West Texas.  My dad (Bruce) and I went with them to Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico.  We had such a good time together with so much fun and laughter.  John was a sweet guy.  This is a picture of John from that trip.

Mr Williams was one of the greatest men around. We worked together at Butler & Land. He was a awesome Leader of our company. I thought of him as a dear friend.  Prayers to his family as

I started at Butler and Land Jan 1, 1975 after being hired by Mr.  Land and John.  I worked for John until he retired in 2002.

I will remember John for his love for the Lord and and his optimism.  He would see the glass as half-full and was always encouraging.   I still remember the time  he told me how Jesus had  become real to him.  From that time forward he was  a new person and was a tremendous witness to others when they saw how he had changed. 

He started a Bible study at work that continues every Monday morning to this day.  

As John entered the presence of the Lord,   I am sure he was told :
Well done, good and faithful servant.


Please let me share my deepest and most heart-felt sympathies with the family and friends of John Braxton.  I am one of the "cousins" still living in Corpus Christi where I was born to George and Ella.  I am 92 years old, almost eight months longer than John Braxton lived and blessed by GOD with better health than I deserve.  At this age a person lives on his or her good memories, and among mine are those involving the times i enjoyed with John Braxton and my other cousins.  What I remember about John Braxton was his pleasant and sincere attitude, even as a young person associating with his kin.  I truly believed he was "cut from a better fabric" than the rest of us.  He will be missed. 

We were blessed to know John and will miss him greatly.  He was a beautiful soul and a follower of Jesus and had an impact on all he met.  He was always kind and pleasant and it was just wonderful to be around him.  We know he is at peace  with his beloved Anita and all is well.

Big John was a wonderful Father figure and inspiration to me and my family.  He will be greatly missed but I know he is with the Lord and Anita.  Many prayers of Peace!

John Williams is an exceptional example of a good Christian man.  It was a pleasure working for him.  His high values showed daily.  There are not enough words to describe all of his good   characteristics.  He will be fondly remembered forever.

My heart goes out to his son John and the rest of his family.  Be comforted that we know he was saved by Jesus Christ.

John was a true Southern Gentlemen whom I will never forget. I had the pleasure of working for and with John for over 25 years. I watched John work with his customers, whom he loved and they in return loved him, and I learned so much from John not only in  business but in life itself.  What a sincere and gentle man he was who loved and trusted in  The Lord every step of his life's journey. He so loved to climb on top of a Transformer or talk with the Field guys at his Utilities about test equipment, which he knew so well.

John was one of a kind and the last of a breed of Gentlemen I strive to be like, he will be missed by everyone.
