

Kim met her husband of 54 years, Jesse Ray Rolan, in 1959 in Taipei, Taiwan and married in 1962. They remained in Okinawa and Kim had her first born, Jesse Rolan Jr. in 1963. Due to Jesse Sr. being in the Air Force, they were assigned to various locations and moved frequently. Kim had a daughter, Monica, in 1970 while stationed in Michigan.
In 1973 they settled down in Austin, Texas. Kim worked as a seamstress for Bealls Department Store and painted. She was a spectacular artist, entering and winning many competitions wherever she lived. She specifically loved painting with oil.
Kim was warm-hearted, never met a stranger, had an incredible smile and was a beautiful person that loved to socialize with others. She was very adventurous and creative, which often lead to her learning new talents.
Kim is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Ray Rolan Sr and her parents, Chi-sai Ts'ai and Mong-Yau Ts'ai-Chen.
Kim is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jesse Jr. and Rebecca Rolan of Austin, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Monica Rolan – Burrage and Robert Burrage of Burnet, Texas; three granddaughters: Julia Rolan, Tiffany Rolan, Sarah Rolan; two grandsons, Sean Rolan, Steven Rolan; and three great-grandchildren, Mya, Austin and Brenda.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 TX-195, Killeen, Texas 76542.
