He attended the LaFeria school system and graduated from LaFeria High School, where he played football and basketball. Luis retired from Texas Department of Criminal Justice system as a commissary manager, where he managed several stores within the criminal justice system. Luis was a very giving man, and helped many people throughout his lifetime. He was a man everyone could count on to lend a hand.
Luis is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dana Aranda; his daughter, Diane Ybarra and husband Joshua Ybarra and their children, Ayden Maldonado and Peyton Ybarra; and his son, Luis Aranda II and his fiance Jessica Landry, her son Brantley Landry; and his children, Kaileigh, Ellaina, and Trevor Aranda. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He is also survived by his brothers, George Aranda, Johnny Aranda, and Arturo Aranda; and his sisters, SanJuana and Rosa; and their spouses and children.
A memorial service for Luis will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78628, followed by a light reception until 3:00 PM.
