

Marie Woolsey, 88 of Georgetown, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2010. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH 35, Georgetown, Texas 78628. A service celebrating Marie’s life and her faith will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 10:00AM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at IOOF Cemetery. Marie was born October 11, 1921 in Buckholtz, Texas to the late James DeWitt and Amy Callahan Robertson. She is also preceded in death by her two sisters, Faye Smith and Corrine Neblich; and her brother, J. O. Robertson. Marie graduated from Georgetown High School in 1939. She worked for the Georgetown Railroad Company for over 28 years and was Treasurer when she retired in 1989. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Georgetown and a charter member of Main Street Baptist Church. She was always involved in her children’s school activities, supporting all their participation in the Georgetown High School sports teams. She was also a fan of the University of Texas football and Lady Longhorn basketball teams, and the Houston Texans. After her retirement, Marie traveled throughout the US with her lifelong friend, Murdell Williams. Marie was a devoted, self-sacrificing mother and grandmother. She is survived by her loving children, George Woolsey and his wife Susan of Denton, Susan Hart and her husband Ernie of San Antonio, Dan Woolsey of Walburg, and Amy Woolsey of Austin; her grandchildren, James Woolsey of Houston, Dan Woolsey of Galveston, Sarah Keirstead and her husband Matt of Bend, OR, Matthew Hart of Austin, and Julie Brewer and her husband Rusty of Washington, DC; her lifelong friend, Murdell Williams; along with numerous other loving family members and friends.
