Mary J. Bailey, 95, died Friday July 20, 2018 at the home of her daughter Barbara Akers in Georgetown, Texas. She is survived by her four children Ray Bailey of Clyde, Ohio; Bessie Naomi (John) Hale of Bellevue, Ohio; Barbara (Larry) Akers of Georgetown, Texas; Harold (Catherine) Bailey Costa of Mesa, California; eight grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, sisters Biddie (Kenneth) Steerman and Judi (William) Howard and brother Oakley Craft.
Mary was one of 15 children for parents Jason B. Craft and Audie Caldwell Craft of Magoffin County, Kentucky. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Walter A. Bailey; brothers Abbott Craft, Melvin Craft, Herbert Craft, William Craft, Harold “Gus” Craft, Dallas Craft, Robert Craft; and sisters Dorothy Craft, Delena Holbrook, Grace Henderson, and Anna Holland.
Mary had a true passion for life. She was always busy, often working full time while raising her 4 children, planting her beloved flowers, and especially doing her sewing and quilting. She will be missed and remembered by all who knew her as a loving and giving person.
Graveside services for the interment of her ashes will be at Butternut Ridge Cemetery in Clyde, Ohio August 25, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider a donation to a Veteran’s charity such as DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Charitable Service Trust or Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation in honor of her brothers who served in the military.
